What we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to delete it.

Who we are

This privacy policy covers sometimes-storage.com ("Sometimes Storage", "we", "us"). It explains what personal data we handle when you use this website, and what rights you have over it.

If you have any question about this policy or want to exercise any of the rights described below, contact us at hello@sometimes-storage.com.

Data we collect when you contact us

If you use our contact form or email us, we receive the information you choose to send: typically your name, your email address, the subject you select, and your message.

We use it for one purpose — to read and reply to your message, and where relevant to inform which storage topics we write next. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a marketing list without your explicit consent.

  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and your consent where you provide the data voluntarily.
  • Retention: correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted.
  • Sharing: contact form submissions are transmitted to the inbox or automation endpoint we use to receive them. They are not shared further.

Analytics and server logs

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which storage topics are useful, in aggregate. Where analytics are in use, we configure them to avoid collecting more than we need, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs — including IP address, browser user agent, requested URL and timestamp — for security, abuse prevention and diagnostics. These are retained for a limited period and then discarded.

Cookies

This site is designed to work without tracking cookies, and it sets none for its own core functionality. If we later introduce advertising or analytics that rely on cookies, we will say so here and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

Third-party services such as advertising networks may set their own cookies if and when they are introduced. You can control cookies through your browser settings at any time.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. These generally include the right to know what we hold, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of it.

  • Access — ask what personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data where we have no need to keep it.
  • Objection and restriction — ask us to stop or limit certain processing.
  • Portability — ask for a copy in a portable format.
  • To exercise any of these, email hello@sometimes-storage.com. We will respond within the time the applicable law allows.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS, and we apply standard security headers. We keep the data we hold to a minimum, which is the most effective protection available — data we never collected cannot be exposed.

No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information sent to us.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and the last-updated date at the top will reflect that. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
