Utility and work room storage ideas

Working rooms have a different storage brief from living rooms. Nobody needs a laundry room to look serene; they need to find the detergent, hang three wet shirts and put the iron somewhere it will not fall on them. Storage here is judged on whether it makes the task faster.

That means designing around the task sequence rather than the floor plan. Storage that sits where the work happens gets used. Storage that sits across the room, however attractive, does not.
