Bedding and linen storage ideas

Storage for bulky soft goods — blankets, towels, duvets, sheets, pillows, quilts and rugs.

Bedding is the most volume-inefficient thing most people own. A single spare duvet can occupy more space than a season of clothes, and it is needed roughly four times a year. That mismatch — enormous bulk, occasional use — is the entire storage problem.

It is also the category most vulnerable to bad storage. Linen stored compressed for months holds creases, linen stored in a damp cupboard smells musty within weeks, and anything vacuum-packed too tightly loses the loft that made it warm. The pages here deal with both halves: reclaiming the volume, without ruining what is inside.
